This is the first year I join Terry Fox Run. Pulled my brother along to participate in this meaningful event. I didn't have a good night sleep the night before. Was searching high and low on "how to get to Padang Merbok by public transport" from the World Wide Web but didn't seem to find any simple and direct instructions. There are site that says it's walking distance from Dataran Merdeka / Bank Negara KTM station / Masjid Jamek LRT Station. I ended up driving to the place with Waze.
There were already a lot of cars parking illegally beside the road by the time we reach the destination. The parking in Padang Merbok were all taken and the traffic was congested. We parked at a really faraway medan car park, somewhere opposite a clinic. My brother said it's around 1km to and fro the place where we parked to Padang Merbok. :O
We managed to reach in time. As you can see from the photo, there are multitude of human supporting the event. People with diverse age group, races, culture, all come together to support this event. To be a part of them feels really awesome! But, due to the crowd, it felt more like a "Terry Fox Walk" instead of "Terry Fox Run". You could barely run forward with the amount of people on that day.
I think we walked half the journey, ran half of it. Surprisingly, it was pretty easy....
Mission accomplished within an hour time! We are the champion~!
On our way back to our car, we saw police giving out summons dutifully. :O Luckily we didn't park at the place, if not the charity run would cost us a lot!
If you missed out the event this year, be sure to watch out for it next year :)
